We needed to trim back our oak tree and also cut out all the dead branches. I got 4 quotes and not only was Joe the most competitive, but he was also the quickest in responding to my queries and answering all my questions. Joe came across as competent, professional and experienced, and very customer oriented. His team that did the job were friendly and efficient and careful in ensuring that branches did not fall into the neighbour’s garden. They took all branches away with them as agreed, and tidied up the garden afterwards. Even my neighbour gave positive feedback saying they did a “very neat and careful job”. And more importantly, the shape of the trimmed back oak tree is excellent and I am a happy customer.Posted on Google![]()

I had a problem with a very large red oak tree with a TPO, some evidence of disease and over hanging my neighbour's property. After acquiring planning permission to pollard the tree I obtained three quotes for the work.Joe's was the most competitive and he the most reactive. He used an impressive machine that clasped a limb and out popped a chain saw severing the branch. With a reach of 27 metres the machine reduced the red oak to the agreed size, transported the bulk timber off sited. tidied the garden. all in one day and with nothing dropping in my neighbour's garden. Joe and his teamed did an amazingly good job. He is very customer focused and quietly efficient. I thoroughly recommend him to you for your tree surgeon work. Graham WilloughbyPosted on Google![]()

We have just had Joe and the team back for the 3rd phase of the maintenance programme, and it was all completed to a very high standard, including a very comprehensive clean up as well. We'd highly recommend EH Arborists to anyone who may need tree work carried out in their own property. Ian and Elane VassPosted on Google![]()

What is woodland management?
Woodland management is the ongoing care of a woodland area, rather than a single one-off job. It covers everything from thinning overcrowded stands and coppicing to encourage new growth, to felling diseased or dangerous trees, managing access, rides and habitat through the woodland, and producing a formal woodland management plan that sets out how the land will be looked after over the coming years.
Good management keeps a woodland healthy, safe and, where relevant, productive, whether that means timber value, amenity use, biodiversity, or simply keeping a much-loved piece of land in good condition for the next generation, while also supporting wildlife and different species. Left unmanaged, woodland becomes overcrowded, weaker trees are outcompeted, and it can become more vulnerable to pests and diseases, while good management helps maintain a sustainable woodland.
Much of Hampshire’s private and estate woodland sits within or close to the South Downs National Park, and many individual trees carry Tree Preservation Orders. We plan management work around these protections as standard, and can handle any TPO application your woodland work requires.
Our process
Site visit and quote
We assess its condition, identify key habitat features, notable flora, and relevant species on the site, and discuss your objectives, whether that's timber, amenity, biodiversity or safety.
Management plan and quote
We set out recommended works, a schedule, and a detailed, no-obligation quote, including a formal woodland management plan where you need one. We also create a compliant management plan, using the right example structure or template where needed.
e.
Scheduled works
Thinning, coppicing, felling, tree planting, or access works are carried out at the right time of year, including work to create and maintain open space while respecting nesting season restrictions and any TPO conditions.
Waste handling
Green waste is disposed of responsibly, or additionally chipped and left as mulch if you'd prefer to keep it on site.
Ongoing care
We return for follow-up visits and future phases of work as agreed in your management plan, helping develop a sustainable woodland over time so its long-term health is looked after continuously, not just once.
